The Distilled Spirits Council recently reported that on-premise Tequila sales more than doubled on Cinco de Mayo, according to new data of restaurants and bar sales in 2011 and 2012.
“Whether frozen, on the rocks, or in flavored versions, the Margarita continues to be America’s favorite cocktail year-round,” said Distilled Spirits Council Director of Public Relations Alexandra Sklansky.
Heres are some unusual twists on the classic from CRUZ and TRES AGAVES Tequilas.
CRUZ Apple Spice Margarita
2 oz Cruz Silver Tequila
A splash of Peach Schnapps
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
4 oz apple cider
Shake with ice and serve over ice. Garnish with apple slices and a cinnamon/sugar rim.
CRUZ Citrus Margarita
2 oz Cruz Tequila
1 lime squeezed
1/2 lemon squeezed
1/2 orange squeezed
1 oz agave nectar
A couple sprigs of mint.
Add a splash of water. Serve over ice.

1 1/2 oz. Tres Agaves Anejo Tequila
1 1/2 oz. Tres Agaves Agave Nectar
1/2 oz. Cointreau Liqueur
1 1/2 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
1/2 Ripe Avocado
A couple Sprigs of Fresh Cilantro
Muddle Tres Agaves Agave Nectar, Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice, Avocado, and Cilantro. Mix ingredients, shake, pour over ice and Perfecto!
This passionate cocktail is intertwined with Tres Agaves Organic Margarita Mix and Passion Fruit!
1 1/2 oz. Tres Agaves Blanco Tequila
2 oz Tres Agaves Organic Margarita Mix
1/2 oz. Mandarine Napoleon
1/2 oz. Passion Fruit Puree
Lime Wheel, for garnish
Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass, then shake & pour over fresh ice in a Collins glass. Garnish with a lime wheel, if desired.
