Diane Silvey of Las Vegas, Nevada wins in the Mix Magazines 2009-10 [ yellow tail ]® wine [ tail ]™ Mixology Contest. Her creation, the “Tall Tail,” was a refreshing and simple blend of flavors that complimented each other perfectly. The original recipe using [ yellow tail ] Riesling is stimulating with a sophisticated flavor imparted by the St. Germain. “The drink is sure to be a hit with bartenders, it is great tasting, easy to make and visually appealing with the signature garnish of a long yellow tail”, says Managing Editor of in the Mix, Mike Raven. He goes on to say, “It is a wine drinker’s cocktail.”
3 oz. [ yellow tail ] Riesling
1 oz. St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
1 ½ oz. white cranberry juice
Juice of ½ lemon
Top with ginger ale.
Take a long lemon twist garnish & put it on the inside of the empty chimney glass, going from top to bottom on one side curling to form a tail. Fill the glass with ice. Shake the first 4 ingredients lightly in separate mixing glass with ice. Strain into chimney glass, top with ginger ale.

An incredibly fun drink capturing all that is Tiki! Lynn’s extraordinary tasting cocktail combined exotic juices with [ yellow tail ] Riesling, Cointreau and a taste of ginger. Bravo Lynn!
2.5 oz [ yellow tail ] Riesling
.5 oz Cointreau
1 tsp grated ginger
2 tsp diced mango
.5 oz lime juice
1.5 oz peach nectar
.25 oz cherry syrup
Combine ginger, mango, lime juice and peach nectar in a mixing glass and muddle until it forms a puree. Add Cointreau and [ yellow tail ] Riesling, shake until well chilled. Fill hurricane glass with crushed ice and strain cocktail into glass. Drizzle cherry syrup on top.

A well thought out cocktail was entered by Philip. The combination of the [ yellow tail ] Pinot Noir with orange and raspberry flavors was a knockout! The cocktail had a wonderful body to it from the use of the egg white.
3 ounces [ yellow tail ] Pinot Noir
Half ounce simple syrup
1.5 ounces Orange Juice
1 egg white
1 Bar spoon Raspberry Preserves
1 Dash angostura bitters
Add all ingredients in a cocktail Shaker and shake with no ice to emulsify egg white. Add ice and shake vigorously. Pour over fresh ice in a wine glass. Garnish with three raspberries on a cocktail pick.
“Joey’s Cool Tale”

The cool flavors of the cucumber and pomegranate made for a wonderfully refreshing cocktail. This drink was visibly as good as it tasted, great job Joey!
3 oz [ yellow Tail ] Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc
1 slice cucumber 1 inch thick
1oz Monin Pomegranate Syrup
1 oz Sour Mix
1 Scoop ice
Splash of Sprite or 7up
Peel the cucumber slice, cut in 4 wedges, put in Shaker can and muddle. Put in all the ingredients except the Sprite. Shake well and pour into a highball glass with a splash with the Sprite. Garnish with a cucumber wheel.
