Mixology Minute: Mom

It’s Mother’s Day, and what better way to celebrate Mom than with bubbles?

A nice glass of Champagne, Prosecco or sparkling wine, plain, with a strawberry or in a cocktail, is the perfect way to celebrate moms.

A few ideas for sprucing up your champagne:

  1. Mimosas – equal parts Champagne and orange juice. Try garnishing with raspberries!
  2. Bellinis – one part Prosecco to one-half part peach puree.
  3. Kir Royale – nine parts Champagne to one part creme de cassis.
  4. Kir Imperial – nine parts Champagne to one part raspberry liqueur.

Some other ideas: wild hibiscus flowers (beautiful in the glass), cranberry juice, rhubarb juice or syrup, pear liqueur (or Poire William), pomegranate… the list is endless.
