It’s Cinco de Mayo, the celebration of the unlikely victory of the Mexican army over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on this day in 1862. And what better way to celebrate than to raise a margarita or two?
The history of the margarita is difficult to pinpoint, but suffice it to say there are as many variations and flavors as there are people to drink them. Whether you prefer your margarita on the rocks or frozen, with salt, sugar or no rimmer at all, traditional or flavored, fruity or spicy, there is no wrong way to enjoy a margarita.
I’ll be enjoying a spicy version with my new favorite, Habanero Lime. Let me know what your favorite is and feel free to send me links to pictures of your celebratory drinks!
