Originally opening March 31, 1942 in New York City, Oklahoma has become one of Broadway’s most notable performances. As the first musical written by renowned composers Rodgers and Hammerstein, it tells the story of cowboy Curly McLain and his romance with farm girl Laurey Williams, along with the goings-on of Will Parker and his flirtatious fiancée, Ado. The production has been revived countless times since its first run, won numerous awards, and has made its mark on musical theater history.
• 3 fresh strawberries, cored and sliced
• 3 basil leaves
• Splash of simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water boiled until dissolved)
• 2 ounces premium vodka
• Ice
Grab your favorite shaker; muddle strawberries, chilled simple syrup and basil leaves together. Add lots of ice and vodka and shake, shake, shake. Pour over ice and garnish with a strawberry.
