2. LSU was held to less than 100 yards of offense in the game, what other defensive blow did The Crimson Tide give to the Tigers? The Tigers didn’t cross midfield until midway through the fourth quarter.

3. What is the name of the trophy awarded to the National Champions? The Coaches’ Trophy. It is awarded by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA)

4. What is the Trophy made of? The trophy consists of a Waterford Crystal football affixed to an ebony base, and carries a value of over $30,000. The winning school retains permanent possession of the trophy, as a new one is awarded every year. The football portion of the trophy weighs approximately 8 pounds and together with the stand, it weighs about 45 pounds and stands 34 inches tall. It is handmade by an artist for Waterford Crystal and reportedly takes nearly 3 months to complete.

5. How many BCS Bowls are there? The Bowl Championship Series (BCS) is a five-game showcase of college football. It is designed to ensure that the two top-rated teams in the country meet in the national championship game, and to create exciting and competitive matchups among eight other highly regarded teams in four other bowl games. The five bowl games are the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, the Discover Orange Bowl, the Rose Bowl Game the Allstate Sugar Bowl and the BCS National Championship Game that is played at one of the bowl sites.
