In 1912, the Wente family brought Chardonnay cuttings from France and planted them in the Livermore Valley. Our 1936 vintage was the first varietally labeled Chardonnay in the nation. Today, the Wente clone of Chardonnay is the most widely planted in California. We look forward to continuing this legacy for generations to come.
